PERINATAL LOSS CLASSES
 

The following are open only to Northside Hospital employees and volunteers at this time.  All classes qualify for contact hours.

 

Check back for information regarding classes open to non-Northside employees.

June 20 ~ 8 am -3:45 pm:  Perinatal Loss Basics

             

Specifically for staff who care for perinatal loss patients in Women’s Services (L&D, HRP, SCN, FCC, WSU)

Registration available ONLY through net-learning. 


What will be covered:
Perinatal Grief definition and process
How perinatal loss affects patient care
Spiritual aspects of perinatal loss
Individual differences in the grief process (including moms, dads, grandparents, siblings)
Communication skills
What is helpful to families (including a panel of parents who will share their experiences)
Standards of care for all perinatal loss patients

July 7 ~ 12-2 pm:  Perinatal Loss for Surgical Services

 

Specifically for surgical services staff who care for perinatal loss patients

Overview of perinatal grief

Paperwork

Policies

Resources for patients and staff
